MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Scouting is to contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society.
• This is achieved by:involving them throughout their formative years in a non-formal educational process
• using a specific method that makes each individual the principal agent in his or her development as a self-reliant, supportive, responsible and committed person
• assisting them to establish a value system based upon spiritual, social and personal principles as expressed in the Promise and Law.
VISION STATEMENT
BY 2013, THE BHARAT SCOUTS & GUIDES, THE LARGEST YOUTH MOVEMENT, WILL BE SELF RELIANT, VALUE BASED, QUALITY ORIENTED, WELL MANAGED AND OFFERING INNOVATIVE, CHALLENGING PROGRAM BASED ON THE NEEDS OF THE YOUNG PEOPLE.
Our Fundamentals
Definition:
The Bharat Scouts & Guides is a voluntary, non-political, educational movement for young people, open to all without distinction of origin, race or creed, in accordance with the purpose, principles and method conceived by the Founder Lord Baden Powell in 1907.
Purpose:-
The purpose of the Movement is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of the local, national and international communities.
The Scout Movement is based on the following principles:-
1. Duty to God
2. Duty to others:
3. Duty to self
The Method:-
The Scout/Guide Method is a system of progressive self education through:-
• A Promise & Law
• Learning by doing
• Patrol System (Membership of small groups under adult leadership)
• Progressive and stimulating programmes of various activities based on interest of the participants
The Promise:
The Promise for the Scout is: " On my honour, I promise that I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country, to help other people and to obey the Scout Law"
The Law:
The Law for the Scout:
1. A Scout is trustworthy.
2. A Scout is loyal.
3. A Scout is a friend to all and a brother to every other Scout.
4. A Scout is courteous
5. A Scout is a friend to animals and loves nature.
6. A Scout is disciplined and helps protect public property.
7. A Scout is courageous.
8. A Scout is thrifty.
9. A Scout is pure in thought, word and deed.

Blood Donation on FOUNDATION DAY 07-11-2012

A three days' Blood Donation Camp from 06-11-2012 to 08-11-2012 was organized by Directorate of Secondary Education, Haryana on the occasion of Foundation Day. About 350 Scouts/Guides/Rangers/Rovers/Leaders participated in the programme.

A five days Hiking cum Tracking Training programme was organized at Bharat Scouts & Guides Training centre Taradevi Shimla by Bharat Scouts & Guides Haryana. Many adventurous activities were carried out in the camp.

Tritiya Sopan Testing Camp at G B S S S Badshshpur, Gurgaon

Tritiya Sopan Testing Camp was held at G B S S S Badshahpur, Gurgaon w.e.f 16-08-2012 to 18-08-2012.
35 trained Scoutmasters escorted the 165 scouts to this camp.  The scouts were taught BP’s Six exercises for the effective starting of the day’s programme. At 10:00 am, we had the inaugural ceremony. The Chief guest of the day Dr. Manoj Kaushik, (DEO Gurgaon) was welcomed in the ceremonial way in the form of Colour party and Guard of Honour by the scouts. The Chief guest stressed in his address that the scouts should always be ready to help others and think to go beyond.
The most awaited session taken by the officials i.e. demo class by LOC Sh. Ramphal Sharma and Trainers Sh. Mithlesh Saini ,  Sh. Ravinder Kumar  and Sh. Munna from NHQ, on various knots, hitches and lashings needed to be learnt by the scouts in order to  prepare improvised tent, improvised flag pose and the pioneering projects. Various sessions related to Estimation, Mapping, First Aid, Knots & Hitched and History of Scouting in India were also taken. Scouts were taught and tested various knots and hitches like reef knot, fireman’s chair knot, draw hitch, fisherman knot, sheep shank etc. The kit inspection was also held wherein the officials visited the Petrols of the scouts to check their uniform, turnout, cleanliness and gadget preparation standards.
A tracking programme was also organized from G S S S , Badshahpur to Bharat Yatra Kendra, Bhondsi.

 
   Mr. Archie, Explorer Scout Leader from United Kingdom visited the camp along with his Scouts. He also addresses the scouts. The scouts from U.K. and India discussed and shared many things. Plantation was also done in the school campus by  Dr. Manoj Kaushik, (DEO Gurgaon),  Smt  Prem Lata, DEEO (Gurgaon) and the Foreign visitors Mr. Archie and his scouts.. Mr. Charles, Explorer Scouts Leader from U.K. along with his scouts had also planted some plants last year in the school campus.  When Mr. Archie and his scouts saw the plants, they were happy to see these plants.
Afterwards, the scouts had talks wherein the scouts and the trainers got their doubts clarified with regard to their further progress in the movement. The flag lowering ceremony of this camp was held after the valedictory function. The the scouts returned from the this memorable camp on 18-08-2012.

14th International Adventure Programme at NAI Pachmarhi

14th International Adventure Programme was held at National Adventure Institute, Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh, India from 16th to 25th February 2012. Shri.R.K.Sharma, Director Bharat Scouts and Guides & Smt Geeta Rawat, Joint Director(G), The Bharat Scouts & Guides were the Guests on the occasion. More than 350 Scouts, Guides, Rovers, Rangers and Unit leaders along with staff members from three countries i.e. India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, participated in the programme. Apart from regular camping activities, adventure activities like tracking, rock climbing, night tracking etc was conducted. Everybody enjoyed every day's campfire.

They enjoyed by having glimpses of the valley. Pachmarhi is a trekkers’ paradise. There are some religious places, a national park and a museum of rich flora & faunaThe participants visited Apsara Vihar, Pandev Caves, Dhoopgarh and Handikh.

Dr. Krishan Pal, Mithlesh Saini, Deepak Saini, Asha Ram, Raj Kumar and Tajender Deep participated from Haryana State. The programme ended on 25th February, 2012 with All Faith Prayer.

Basic Training Course (Introductory) for Scout & Cub Masters at Rao Mohar Singh College of Education, Gurgaon

A three days Basic Training Course (Introductory) for Cub Masters and Scouts Masters was organized under the worthy and dynamic leadership of Sh. L. S. Verma, State Training Commissioner(S) Bharat Scouts & Guides, Haryana at Rao Mohar Singh College of Education, Baharampur, Gurgaon from 23-25 January 2012. Sh. Ramfal Sharma DOC, Gurgaon, Sh. Mithlesh Saini, Sh. Shanti S. Sharma & Sh. Bheemsen (S.Ms), Smt. Dalal DOC(G), Smt. Ram MurtiDOC(B)offered their services in the training programme. Sh. L.S. Verma addressed all the participants & delivered a lecture containing fruitful information about Scouting & Guiding. Really this session was very beneficial for all.
One hundred forty seven Future Teachers i.e. B.Ed. and D.Ed. students participated in the training programme. Various activities were performed in this camp.They were taught:-
A. Motto of Scouting
B. Importance of Scouting
C. Need and utility of Scouting in our Country.
D. Uniform: - How to wear the uniform properly.
E. Knotting: - Reaf Knott, Clove Hitch, timber Hitch and Sheet band etc.
F. How to build a tent.
G. The scouts and guides were taught that cleanliness is next to God.
The flag ceremony was shown to the participant, Motto of scouting, importance of scouting and its utility and application of scouting in the life of the people of our great country.

Workshop on "Role of Schools in Conservation of the Natural & Cultural Heritage"


The ten day long workshop on "Role of Schools in Conservation of the Natural& Cultural Heritage" organized by Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) from December 20-30, 2011 at Panchayat Raj Training Institute, Directorate of Panchayats, Arundhati Nagar, Agartala, Tripura.

. The ten day workshop saw the participation of 77 teachers from 10 states of the country taking part in the training programmes offered by the CCRT. Sharing of knowledge about one’s culture with others and creating a sense of appreciation for the diversity and richness of India’s heritage were the focal points of the workshop, which included lectures, demonstrations and practical classes by Professor M.K Sharma, Consultant CCRT and Dr. Sandeep Sharma.

The workshop also helped in creating awareness about the role of schools in conservation of natural and cultural heritage and encouraging involvement of students and teachers in such activities that may help them to serve the country.
