Scouts creating a better world...Plantation at Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Gawal Pahari, Gurugram

Plantation programme was held in Govt. Sr. Sec. School,Gawal Pahari, Gurugram. ‘Paudhagiri campaign’ (Plantation Campaign), an unique program to increase green cover. The campaign aims increase green cover, help in stabilizing environment and improve overall climatic conditions, thus help in checking global warming.
Under this campaign, my scouts are planting sapling during three months of monsoon ( July, August and September). They are planting saplings in courtyard of their house, park, school and at every open space available in their proximity. Every scout planting sapling will take care of it for next three years. They are naming plants according to their likes. In addition to scouts, all the students and teachers also participated inthe drive by planting saplings in school premise. Ritu Chaudhary, B.E.O. Sohna Block, inaugurated the programme by planting Triveni in school campus. Nirmla Sheoran, Principal, GSSS Gawal Pahari, emphasized on the importance of such tree plantation drive.She said,"We should realise that trees are an effective way to prevent global warming and reduce pollution."She added,"It is important to plant trees to maintain the ecological balance.Tejram ji and Mangal Singh ji from Gawal Pahari village actively participated in‘Paudhagiri campaign’
We had started Plantation programme in July 2011 when Mr. Charles from England contacted me and told me about his visit to India with his scouts. Mr. Charles visited along with his scouts and inaugurated "plantation program" by planting saplings.....!

3rd APR NSO Coordinators meet started with opening ceremony held at Badkhal
Lake Resort on 20th April 2016. Many guests joined and celebrated the meet,
including Ms. Seema Trikha, Chief Parliamentary Secretary of Haryana as the
chief guest of this opening ceremony. "Everyone is not able to speak or
may not be able to speak but they can also smile. A smile speaks a lot of words," said the chief guest.
The Regional Director Mr. Jose Rizal C. Pangilinan, Sir B.I. Nagarale I.A.S.(Retd.)
the Chief National Commissioner of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, resource
persons i.e. Ms. Cynthia Marquez from the Global Support Centre, Mr. Prassanna
from APR Support Centre and Mr. Peter Blatch from the Regional Decision-Making
Committee (RDC), Sh. L. S. Verma SOC(S) were also present at opening ceremony.
The aim of the Meet was to empower the youth to spread the message of peace
worldwide. As the name itself signifies, Messenger of Peace (MOP) is an
initiative which fosters world peace by enabling Scouts and Guides to create a
better world around them.
Participants were passionate to learn about MoP initiatives and they have
great expectations from this Meet. They followed sessions of Introduction to
MoP Initiatives, Better World Framework, and Networking. “Ben and Jenny surely
will get more inspiration when Unit Leaders learn what you came out with today.
smile emoticon Very practical ideas on how can we practice Peace
in a personality community and Collective effort Network, said Ms. Cynthia
Marquez.
The program culminated on April 24 at the Badhkal
Tourist Complex. Dr. K.K. Khandelwal, Addl. Chief Secy,
Govt. of Haryana was the Chief Guest on the occasion. 26 Representatives from
18 countries took the Peace Oath. Certificates were handed to all the
participants at the culmination ceremony.
Five days' Standard Judging Camp w.e.f. 14/12/2015 to 18/12/2015

A five-days Scouts and Guides Standard Judging Camp was organised by the Haryana State Bharat Scouts and Guides at Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Sector – 4/7 Gurgaon w.e.f. 14-12-2015 to 18-12-2015 as per Directorate of School Education, Haryana directions. The camp was inaugurated by the Distt. Chief Commissioner cum DEO Gurgaon Dr. Manoj Kaushik.
The event saw participation of 200 Scouts from 20 schools and 200 Guides from 15 schools from Gurgaon Distt. in the age group of 12-15. DOC(S) Sh. Ramfal Sharma, DOC(G) Smt. Ritu Sahgal, Scout Masters Sh. Mithlesh Saini, Sh. Rakesh Kumar, Sh. Suresh Lather, Dr. Krishan Pal, Sh. Sudhir Kumar, Sh. Mukesh Kumar, Sh. Rohtas, Sh. Satnarain Yadav etc. and A.E.O Sh. Virender Singh with his team were active in managing the camp.
The syllabus for the competition encompassed from Pravesh to Dwitya Sopan (pioneering, first-aid, tracking science, signaling, nature study), for scouts and guides members in the junior category and Pravesh to Tritiya Sopan (prayers, knotting, lashings, and camp life) for scouts and guides members in the senior category.
The event is being held annually to prepare the scouts and guides members for the Rajya Puraskar (Governor’s Award) and Rashtrapathi Puraskar (President’s Award). This (competition) is a preparation test for students. It is an aid to observe the standard of students in scouting in many aspects.
The event is held to showcase the talent and skills of scouts and guides members in projects, tent pitching, flag erection, making gadgets out of waste materials, handicrafts, first-aid, and cooking. Other events in the competition include self-cooking, playing, singing prayer songs, march past, map making and reading. Demonstrations and testing on first-aid techniques such as bandaging hand and foot, bandaging head, arm sling, first-aid for burns, fire-man lifting, lifting a person with fractured leg carrying a person on stretcher, back lifting, and front and back lifting were also conducted. A rally was also conducted on the theme of "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao"
The aim of scouts and guides is to develop the skills of an individual, foster personality development, and imbibe social responsibility.
On the occasion of closing, Dr. Manoj Kaushik And Mrs. Umesh Aggarwal awarded the winner petrols in various competitions held.

Five days re-orientation course for scout masters and Rajay Puraskar
Training camp for scouts were conducted at The Bharat Scouts &
Guides Training Center, Taradevi, Shimla w.e.f. 18/04/2015 to 2/04/2015
under the leadership of Sh. L.s. Verma
STC(S). 52 scout masters and 191 scouts participated in the camp. The
days started with B P Six and ended with campfire along with related
activities e.g. tracking, wood cooking and various scouting related
activities sessions. The rain and hail that fell all over the camp site
could stop the scouts and the adult leaders from doing their duty and
activities.
